Background:
The son of a Chicago banker, Adam was raised on stories of adventures in the dark continent told to him by his uncle Daniel. His father's eldest brother was a partner in the bank, but had a streak of adventurer in him. Thats how it was no surprise to many in his family when Daniel left his partnership, and hopped a ship to Africa to find lost treasures. He left a note explaining his intentions, and as far as Adam knew, that was the last anyone ever heard from him.
Adam has always had his uncle's knack for finding trouble, and has a tendency to speak his mind no matter the consequences. He enjoys the shooting club his father introduced him to, as well as venturing out into the woods on camping excursions when he had the opportunity. Adam served 4 years as an officer with the 7th infantry out of Fort Shaw, Montana Territory, learning learning a good deal more of survival from a blackfoot scout named...
He returned home three months ago to an apprenticeship with this father's bank.
Of course his father was anxious that he be more focused on his job, but Adam was content to complete the bare minimum of his duties, just to keep his father happy.
Then a letter arrived that would change the course of his life. Faded and torn, it was from his uncle in Africa.
